There Is Only One You
Day 11: Thursday, April 25, 2024
CC here,
A lady in black bootie shorts a cream skin tight shirt and fur lined light brown Ugg slippers struts into the cafe and picked up her light iced coffee order to go. The line at the pick up counter is busy today. Young and old, as it is Spring Break. Holiday mode. People are chilling and vibing here at the cafe. The computerized devices at the tables next to me are activated and in use by their owners.
The pretty lady to my left has long black wavy hair with her hair tied half up. Her bangs fall into her face as she scrolls her iPhone which is protected by a pink glossy case. Her laptop is open as visible with a map on her screen, which the details are not visible to me. The sweet looking Asian man to my right wears a baseball cap and earbuds and is actively reading his laptop.
Two woman sitting at a table in front of me are engaged in a deep conversation about traveling to Kito, Japan. The two women continue their discussions, as I sip my light hot latte. Their conversation was sincere and focused about traveling. The women’s voices carried loud enough that I could hear the entirety of it.
I looked around and realized I was the heaviest person in the cafe. People are beautiful, if you really look at the greater scheme of things. The features of a human being are interesting and what distinguishes me from you is clear. There is only one me and one you in this world. Winter passed and I didn’t visit the cafe as frequently as I would have liked to. Life got busy and days turned to weeks. I joined a gym and began to focus on my physical well being.
I am an obese woman who has had challenges with maintaining an average weight for my height and age. Dance and exercise were always part of my life and keeping trim was essential. As I got older, my weight just increased over time. Now in my fifties and divorced and desperately trying to achieve a healthy goal weight, I am geared to live a healthier lifestyle. In 2019, I weighed 230 pounds. In 2022, I weighed 137 pounds. Now, I weigh 187 pounds. What contributed to this yo yo of a weight change? I’m still not sure. Stress, age, lack of sleep, emotional eating, lack of exercise, other factors… My big goal is to lose fifty-seven pounds.
Come with me on my healthy lifestyle journey.Join me, as I continue to put myself out there in the dating scene. I want to entertain you as I return to the work force, after a hiatus.
There is only one you…
Life is full of experiences that mold us.
Live. Love. Care.
