What's On Your Menu?
Day 4: January 8, 2024
CC here,
There are about a dozen customers sitting in the cafe today. Dark coffees, light coffees, refreshments, and snacks and sandwiches to nibble on are options. Having the choice and the option to do, make, or get is essential. You have that opportunity to have whatever it is you want.
However, if you do not have the means, how can you enjoy this cafe delight? Budget yourself you may think. What about option swap? You may want one thing one day. Then, if you can’t attain what you desire, limit yourself the next day. Another way is to just substitute one thing from another. We can do that a lot in life.
What are you ordering? What’s on your menu? What is your temptation? What is your desire? You make the decision to just be. You make your own. What are the ingredients that spice up your life?
I’m watching two people chatting across from me. They were women who I would guess to be in their twenties. Who am I to judge? Just by my observation of the way they look and communicate with one another. Their conversation goes back and forth. They are far for me. Too distant to hear what they are saying. The ladies’ body language says a lot. During their constant communication, the past twenty minutes I have been sitting here observing them preludes to the matter of fact. One woman has a small iced coffee light and the other holds one small iced latte heavy on the cream. Both women were curvy and petite in size at that table for two.
A skinny cafe please… A goal of mine is to lose another fifty-eight pounds.
I can zip my extra large sweatshirt on me again. I went from a 2x to a 1x size shirt. And now, I wear a large extra large. So much better. I was not happy in my own skin at 230lbs. I was depressed. I always wore black because not only did I like the color black, I also thought wearing black made you look skinnier. People measure a lot of things. For starters, we begin with counting our age since the moment we are born. We count money to buy the things we need and want. We count time and consider how precious it is. We count measurement in this case body parts and the amount of food one eats. We count our movement based on speed. We count the size of clothes we wear. We count our weight. We count on others for support. Most of all, we count on ourselves to be the best person we can be.
Studies state that individuals weight increase as they age. The body continuously changes and goes through different stages. From the time you are an infant to your senior years, you go to the doctors office. The doctor takes your height and weighs you and records your height and weight throughout your life. This measurement is a resource that helps support a healthy lifestyle. As for a child, measuring their height and weight sets a standard for their general growth.
There are different height and weight charts for males than there are for females based on their body makeup. The chart is a gauge to see if you are at your optimal weight. You can learn whether you are at a healthy weight, underweight, or overweight. Learning your range on the chart can help you keep an eye on your development and goal.
Individuals often wonder not only how they are going to lose the weight but when are they going to loose the weight? How long will the weight loss process take for you?
There are many things to take into consideration before you see results. Age, fitness how healthy you are and your daily activity come into play. Of course there can be a weight loss plateau and ups and downs too.
For now, I will set my goals both long term and short term. As the old saying goes, "slow and steady wins the race.”
