Happy New Year 2024
Day 2: January 1, 2024

Happy New Year 2024!
Peace. Love. Live. Care.
My New Year’s resolution is to be a better me every day.
Taking care of yourself is important and having habits to self improve is also so valuable. I get the expression now the city never sleeps. My alertness the other day was spot on. I went to visit another friend in New York City. The morning train I traveled on was not so crowded, during this holiday week. In fact, the seats next to me were empty. My exhaustion was just beginning to creep in. I thought will my energy keep me going through the day.
Little sleep the night before had me feeling wired and of course tired. My eyes fluttered the whole train ride into Manhattan. The two cups of caffeinated coffee light with vanilla creamer before I boarded the train was wearing off. I felt like tooth picks were keeping my eyes open. I could have easily dozed off in an instant, but the roaring sound of the train pulling into each station and the bells and conductor’s announcements along the trip to Manhattan kept me from drifting to sleep. I arrived at Penn Station, New York on time.
Next stop, Battery Park City was where I met my friend. We walked by the waterway. And got to the point where a peer began. There was a clear view of Lady Liberty. The clouds creating their own magnificent painting in the sky with the lady statue holding her torch created scenery to be memorable.
I was trying not to fall on my face. I was still exhausted. We walked to the mall at a snails pace steps away from the waterfront. We watched a ferry pull into the port and soaked in the atmosphere where people strolled along the path also. Pushing myself to get there and the chit chatting was entertaining enough for me to realize no matter what matters make the effort.
We don’t often have time to visit, so make the moments count. Being with a person is not about the quantity, but most importantly the quality is what counts.
Feeling fatigued and still showing up mattered. Even though, the day qualified for more energy, the day was real in a sense that visiting those we care about and love matters most.
Knowing that there are those who care about you too is important as well. Having your so called A list of people B list of people and so on just like planning a wedding can be fulfilling. Those who are there for you matter most.
Do, visit, and experience life day by day.
Care.
